No Post today. Taking the Lord’s day of rest! I will have something up tomorrow though 😉
I hope you have had a good Sunday!
A place for things and stuff
Teatro ZinZanni is dinner and show theater in downtown Seattle on Mercer St. My wife won tickets to the show, so we decided to give it a try.
The show is a five course meal spread out over three and half hours. The acts consist of a comedian, singers, and acrobats, all based around the story that we are witnessing the big party before Ragnarök, or the end of the word. It is like a rock opera/Cirque Du Soleil/dinner deal.
The food and the music were good, but the acrobats stole the show. They did an amazing job. I did tend to get a little hungry waiting for the next course to be served since they serve the food as part of the show, and the servings aren’t that big.
All in all, it was a lot of fun, but it is pricey. I got in for free and still ended up paying a bit of coin, and I am not sure I would have paid the full hundred or so dollars a person, if we hadn’t got the tickets free, but if you do get to go, or are looking for something different, then you will have a good time at Teatro ZinZanni.
Since it has been 30 days since I started this blog I thought I would give you some of the stats about its usage.
Over the last 30 days 125 unique users (or computers if you like) have visited my site, and they have visited 442 times. They have viewed 798 pages of content, and stayed on my site for an average of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
The posts with the highest views besides the main page are: Good Day to Die Hard, Le Miserables, and The Diaspora Trilogy. The least viewed posts are: The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Treasure Planet, and Spreading Dredd. So it appears you like current movies and books vs. older movies and lesser known comic book heroes, who knew.
Most of you use Comcast accounting for 185 of the visits, 55.9% of you use Windows, and 23% of you use your iPhone. 3% of you use Linux. Internet Explorer is the browser used the most, and Opera is used the least.
It has been fun running this site, and I hope you are enjoying reading it because I am having fun writing it. And if it freaks you out about what I know about your site viewing habits blame Google.
Since I didn’t watch anything last night, and I haven’t finished a book I decided to give my impressions on the platform I am using for this blog.
I am using WordPress 3.5.1. It has been a joy to use. I have come from building sites using Drupal, which is great too, but this has been the easiest site I have ever managed. Once I had my host and domain name, all I had to do was upload the files and run the install and my site was up in a matter of minutes. There are tons of plugins to extend your site as well, and you can look for plugins and right from the plugin menu, so you don’t need to go to WordPress.org all the time. The two basic site themes they give you are perfect to get your site started.
As far as a full fledged site though, I am not sure I would use WordPress though. Drupal is so customizable and you can do just about anything with it, but for blogs and simple sites, WordPress is awesome. Virtual high fives everyone … slap.
The past couple weeks of blogging has been tons of fun, and WordPress has added to that. If you ever decide to run a simple site or a blog, you don’t need to look any further then WordPress. Ok enough with gushing. As you were everyone.
